Hi all,

As many would know, my alter egos like chronographs, and divers.

I just got this new diver - a startup watch company and this is his first offering. His name is Poul Brix Poulsen, and the company is US based.

It is a big beast - 44mm across (sans crown), 47mm (avec). Don't know why I went all French there! 53mm lugtip to lugtip, 17 mm thick. 2824 movement regulated, very good timekeeper; 1000m rated; HRV.

Case made by Fricker (Dreadnought, Muhle Rasmus, Kobold etc...). Domed crystal. 100 pieces made, all sold very quickly.

I was worried before delivert it would be just too massive for my 7.5" wrist, but it wears really comfortably I must say. There is a bracelet to come, and the provided rubber strap is very cool in design with a sawtooth appearance in profile - see pics. It is a prominent band however.

See what you think.

I have to post photos as a reply for some reason??? See next post.

Pics - note the comparison with the Sinn EZM-1 LE.

Well I like it.... robust, clear dial and a wide bezel......

Unfortunately for me it looks a little bit like the Kobold Soaraway Diver (seal) - 'same case dimensions' but it is a lot cheaper at $850 instead of $3,750

And considering Kobold started with watches made by Sinn I guess they are just doing the same.

BTW. The Forum is being worked on at the moment so it may be that.....

I like it, and yes it does bear more than a passing resemblance to the Kobold. Looks like a bit if a beast too by the way those lugs overhang your not-so-small 7.5" wrist.

How comfortable is it though Dave? I'm not a fan of rubber straps so I'd be curious to see what it's like on a Zulu.

I like that one too.  Is it the titanium case, or SS?  Is the black on the bezel a PVD?

Yeah, Simon, I must admit I was a bit concerned when I ordered it that it would be too big. Actually I missed out initially and went on the waiting list in case anyone bailed out. Someone did, so I got lucky. I figured that for the money it was worth a punt, given the pedigree behind the case etc... By the way, John, it is SS. Good question about the black numbers on the bezel - not sure.
I have been surprised at just how comfy it is - very. Although the lugs appear to overhang, it is more that they sit up from the wrist. It is pretty heavy, even on the rubber.
My wife really liked it - she put it on and it looked good - it is so big on her it looks like funky jewellery.
The rubber strap is a Hirsch strap that shipped with it - the bracelet is coming in a few weeks. Odd strap, but it does suit it. Hard to fit under a work shirt sleeve however!
I would like to try a nice Nato / Zulu - gotta find the best source for a 24 mm one (yes, 24mm lugs). I have a 24mm Watchadoo coming too.
Really , this is a tool watch in its purest form - very solidly built, tough, simple and easy to read - I guess what you would want at 1000m!! Of course I'm never going there, but I can appreciate the watch for that. And it didn't cost an arm and a leg. And it will get plenty of aquatic use come summer.

I like it- but then again I like big watches, I don't think I'd wear anything less than 41mm, my current watch is 43mm as well.

Ermm, Dave, in case you hadn't realised you are already almost 13 million meters down. At least from where I'm sitting.

That Korsbek looks like it can stand the pressure, even from down-under.

Nice watch. Quite like the Kobold Endurance too... another Sinn-a-like: big, rugged, sturdy and expensive...

I've got it on the 24 mm Watchadoo - it sits much better; that rubber strap held it away from the wrist, on the bracelet it snugs down nicely. 'Tis a beast, to be sure.
As for the 13 million metres - we Aussies love the pressure...except on the Olympic velodrome, about which I do NOT want to talk. Much. Very disappointed, but your GB lot have done well (with our Aussie coaches!!) and big congrats to them. I love the track cycling, and have enjoyed it, but am very disappointed in the poor form taken in by many of our team. We really should have been more competitive. Hope we can get our act together for 2012.
And Al, yes. I got the email. You really should not be allowed to tempt me like that. I would very much like it, but I must not...I must not...I...must...try...to...resist!!

Glad you got the mail. I assumed you were sitting there staring at your screen with your Angel & Demon on either shoulder calling to you... Lol!

The watch has now gone so there's no need to worry! Lol!

Like that diver!

Yummy. I like that heavy band and think it suits very well.

I'm a 7.5" wrist too (off course!) so I can get a good idea of how it sits. I want one now!
