The idea of forums is for people to meet discuss and share ideas about watches, old new, blue, green anything! The site is largely for chronograph enthusiasts, but that does not mean that you cannot post about other types of watches just as long as they are interesting in their own way. Discuss ‘Off topic’ subjects not relating to the watch world and post your pictures too See Forum Guide for advice.

I've just switched to the 'tona for a change but I've been wearing my 67 Speedmaster most of the week as I had a mineral crystal caseback fitted to it for my birthday. That cal 321 movement is just so beautiful.

Really like the caseback... I agree the speedy copper finish looks great. Where did you get it from mate? i wouldn't mind getting one for mine? If you can make the 21st? Bring those two and your Seadweller? Be great if you can but if not we can always have a beer clser to your kneck of the woods in September?

Sometimes here, sometimes there, and sometimes I can't remember where

The caseback came from Thomas Preik in Germany. The prices shown are in Euros but in my case included shipping. I know some other glass-backs require a spacer ring to be inserted (often not supplied) but this one seems fine without one. I just unscrewed the original caseback, flipped off the dust cover and screwed on the glass-back. 5 minutes and a total transformation.

The only other change was to remove the 1171 steel bracelet and fit a brown leather strap so I can take the watch off and properly admire the work of art that is the movement.

Amazing to think that such a great piece of engineering has been kept under cover for over 40 years.

I am hoping to be there on the 21st and I'll bring it along for inspection.

Cheers,
