This is an old one from my first website. Cool Watch is uber and er you know the rest.
Venus 150 or 175 - I've seen them will val.92 and val.23 in FAct I ahve a ChronoKing going on the site this week which is what reminded me of such a cute little watch.
Story goes that this particular model was sold in Woolworths in the late 60's and as testament to their water resistance they were kept stacked on top of each other in a glass bell jar on the counter. Lol!
How cool is that?

| It's two, two watches in one! Despite the vacillating name on the dial, it's a good looking watch in its own right. BTW, what's the green reflection from? |

This is a very nice watch with a classic look even though it mimics so many others. It would certainly wear well on the wrist |

Reminds me a bit of my Wittnauer Pro 1967 with the countdown timer and all. I thought cool.

Like it, definitely. Not in the uber-field, for me, but cool enough, for sure.
It just looks like a chrono of that kind of era should - relatively classical, with a bit more tool-like punch to it, before designers starting going off the deep end in the 70s (which led to a lot of classics, and some utter madness).
I have to say Al that your input to the cool wall from your own sites is universally of a pretty high standard - surely there must be some skeletons lurking in the cupboard....?

Green reflection is a coffee mug.
Dave, I will have a look but to be honest with you after collecting for so long I could put up 100 polls of that quality if I loaded up my original archive from DVD.
I may have a Tissot that was a dog somewhere....

Definitely a watch for all reasons and a very attractive one at that. Not quite in the uber category but very wrist worthy all the same. Like the Woolies story too, very cool indeed, if only they did the same these days.

Some good design points that I like, particularly the hands, but just not quite in the uber cool class.

Hmmm. Now I should like it. Big black bezel, black dial with a splash of red detail, interesting broad-arrow hands, nice coffee coloured patina on the lume......and yet, I'm not sure. I think it looks a bit like the logo has fallen off from under the 12'oclock position.
Am I being too harsh? |
