The site is largely for chronograph enthusiasts, but that does not mean that you cannot post about other types of watches just as long as they are interesting in their own way. Discuss ‘Off topic’ subjects not relating to the watch world and post your pictures too See Forum Guide for advice.

24-06-2008 11:40:57 AM Alert

I received this from Nick English at Bremont last night.

Hi Alistair

I want to write to apologise for this Friday.  EP120 (the aircraft) has had to have to maintenance work completed on it due to the Fighter Legends show at Duford coming up.

The event would not quite be the same without the aircraft there.  What I thought we could do instead, if anyone in keen, is meet up at White Waltham Airfield (a lovely old wartime airfield near Maidenhaed) and take the guys up in Bremont's Max Holste Broussard (a rare early 1950's French military bomber/recon aircraft).  The aircraft is great fun and they will be able to see where a lot of the inspiration for the watches has come from.  There is a great restaurant/bar there and it is half way (ish) between Bristol and London.

Let me know, and sorry again for something that unfortunately is slightly out of our hands.

Best

Nick

To be arranged, what a nice gesture hey?

Regards

Alistair

Sounds really good to me, it would be great to see the Bremont plane and even better to get a flight.

Here is the airfield website...

Even though I can't go, that is a great gesture from the English brothers, and all at Bremont. Wish I could be there.
If you guys can go, please take some nice pics for us poor folk at home!

Sounds fantastic. What a lovely gesture from Nick. Just let me know when, and I'll try and be there... from a purely selfish point of view, I'm off diving for a couple of weeks from Sunday, so post 14th July would be good!

For clarification - is Nick proposing that we find another time to do this, rather than Friday?

By the way, that Broussard is awesome. Is it the 1521M or C? Haven't been to WW for ages - not since I used to fly there with my Father.

Maldives. Male atoll, about 25mins by boat from the airport. Lovely hotel twinned with the Banyan Tree across the way. Had a good dive yesterday on the house reef - sleeping nurse sharks, a whitetip reef shark and other coolness, plus today saw two manta ray. Viz is a bit hazy, but that's what brinhs the manta - and hopefuly whale sharks! Was diving on Nitrox for first time. Will post morelater on,a s should be able to upload photos frm here...

Saw some manta today; got some good shots, but will have to wait. Laptops here are locked down and I can't uplaod photos. Will post review in ten days or so, including the obligatory watch shot (only the Seiko and Uwatec Aladin Ultra. Sorry.)
