The idea of forums is for people to meet discuss and share ideas about watches, old new, blue, green anything! The site is largely for chronograph enthusiasts, but that does not mean that you cannot post about other types of watches just as long as they are interesting in their own way. Discuss ‘Off topic’ subjects not relating to the watch world and post your pictures too See Forum Guide for advice.

THE FORUMS ARE NOW READ ONLY; The New ATG Forums have arrived!  Please re-register on the new forum to begin posting.

I think I posted about this when the magazine issue first came out, but it got lost with the server transfer.   Here is a quick re-post and update.

Got a nice email from Nick saying thanks for getting Bremont some good US press in WatchTime magazine.  They put a photo of me and my ALT1-Z in a new section called "Face Time" and then had a short article about the company in "Watch Talk".  It has been very exciting to see this new brand take off.  I responded to Nick that his company is creating watches that feel like an extension of the aircraft, rather than just using aircraft as an advertising gimic.  The EP120 certainly expands on that.  The recent launch event looked like fun.  I would have loved to try the Spitfire simulator!

Here is one of my last photos in the jet with the watch.  I am now in a non-flying job for awhile.  Normal career progrression, but stinks!

A lot of the little features and where the inspiration has come from for these watches are lost on us non pilots.
Do you know why the constant second sub dial is half black? Is it looking like the artificial horizon instrument?
Also its great to see one being used in anger...

Hi Rich,

Thanks for posting that cool shot again. Very nice!

In answer to Martin the colour split is actually in reference to the artificial horizon. Here is one from a test Concorde at RAF Yeovilton 2007.

I would have said the Concord was in 70 degress of left bank! But red off flags on everything tell a different story.

Just the thought that went into all the little details of the ALT1-Z is amazing:

The propellers on the 12hr counter
The piston look of the case side
The engine inspired rotor
The rotating inner bezel feel of an HSI (horzontal situation indicator)

I love it! I am a Breitling fan for the same reasons, but Bremont just seems more genuine. I hope they never lose that as they become a bigger name (like Breitling).

If anyone decides to sell their EP120 at a steep discount, give this starving pilot a call.
