So the Fortis Pilot Chrono had a fair reception but not everyone was convinced. Now this is the model that really caught my eye and made look more seriously at Fortis.
So, let's put it to the vote.

My brother has the non chrono version. It is a cool watch defo but maybe subject too looking Tatty eventually!
Also your not joining our Bremont gang by sneaking under the wire with your Fortis! Right fellas!

I'd be very happy if Bremont brought out a model with a nice big bezel like the B42. Who knows, I might even be tempted....

Steady now!
I believe we now have an F15 Eagle pilot as part of our small but perfectly formed 'woop' of Bremont owners.
Check out his 'cockpit' shot on the Bremont forum.
You just have to let yourself go mate, give in to the Force Padawan |

I like! In fact, I considered buying one, I just can't get EVERYthing I want at one shot. BTW, the non-chrono Marinemaster fared better in a recent magazine sponsored dive watch pressure test than some of the supposedly better competition. SWIMs for me! |

Much better than the previous offering
Recently saw one on a bracelet and it had a significant visual inpact. Looks great on leather as well. Not sure it is my favourite Fortis, but well worth consideration. |

I like this watch quite a bit; however, it does have a few drawbacks: The dail is a little busy and the indiceis at 6 and 9 just seem to be too long. That said it is still a very nice watch. |

Way too much going on for my simple tastes.
I'm going to get technical again here so take cover. lol! In my trade (advertising/design and general poncing around) we have a term called an eye path, in short the size and positioning of the elements on a page lead your eye in pre-determined order. This Fortis has absolutely no eye path what so ever, everything on the dial is fighting for equal prominence and subsequently all failing miserably. Simply removing the hour numerals would improve the layout dramatically although it still wouldn't be anywhere near perfect.
JMHO as ever though, I guess it will appeal to some but it's not for me.

I fear I have clouded the issue by voting in the middle, and evening up the numbers.
I take Gary's point about the sight path (or eye path rather), but it seems that Fortis deliberately add as much equally-weighted information as they can.
I guess their logic is that if things are there to be read, they need to be readable, not in microdot, so you have to squint.
Not saying I agree - the overall impression is confusion for me.
It was the same with the last of their 5100 models, with the same case as this.
However, It has a lovely case design, and in my experience the deep black they use on the dial and the AR coating to both sides of the crystal mean that these are almost shockingly legible, with the white and lume really popping.
I certainly wouldn't kick one out, but I wouldn't search one out either.
I was following a thread elsewhere the other day, and the overall impression was that out of any mid/high range manufacturer, it was Fortis that lost the most from dealer price to pre-owned price. I tend to agree. It theoretically makes them great value in the used market, but at the same time, a very difficult purchase to make new, unless you are totally, totally convinced you're buying the watch you desperately want.

The triangles indicate which way to rotate the crown in order to adjust the date or the day - turn the crown towards you to adjust the day, and away from you to move the date. My own blue dial day/date diver doesn't have them, I'm not surre if they are actually lumed.
PS: forgot to vote on this one, but I think it's cool. I'd rather have a white sweep hand, but it's still an winner as it is.
