I bought one of these to tide me over while I decide which of the other zillions of watches I could get to celebrate my 40th. Hardly a bright red sports car but I find it intriguing.
What do you guys say?
Hot or not?

Yep, this watch ticks alot of boxes for me. It's up to date without being too "designed" and I really like the details like the grip on the chrono pushers and red square marker on the seconds hand. I'm always drawn to Breitling when I see them in display cases but I often struggle to find a model I would actually wear. This one is a definite yes.
What's it like on the wrist? It looks quite chunky. |

Ohh!! This is tough. I'm not a fan of Breitling's in general. As has been commented many a time on this and other fora, their just a bit too bling for me. Also having tried one on a few years ago, I was very disappointed with the build quality. That said, I don't know if its the titanium finish, but this watch looks the part i.e a proper tool watch. The final decision: a thumbs up, I like this one.

Not my cup of tea....
Redesign the chrono pushers, crown and bezel then it would be ok.
Sorry,

Sorry the bezel and pushers make it to "new" for me.
But, here's a Breitling that I could wear!!!!!

I like it. It is not without its foibles, but I like it. Love the square second hand end, but slightly disappointed there is no matching colour to the other chrono-hands. Love the hatching on the end of the pushers, and around the crown, but at the same time there seem to be one too many steps and angles on them to make sense - they could perhaps be cleaner. Great legibility, in terms of very high contrast between dial and numerals. The case is a great shape. I am interested that this watch seems to ditch a lot of the shiny furniture that one associates with Breitling, and yet it keeps all of the bells and whistles on the bezel shape, with the quarter markers, the minute indents, the screws around the outside, and the 5-minute indents to the crystal ring. This is clearly because this bezel design is their "heritage" so they are making an effort to identify the watch without reading the name on the dial, but perhaps a bit simpler? One feature I have always liked on Breitlings is the Turbine inlet casting to the caseback, but this doesn't have it! Honestly, there's no pleasing some people......

Image from John (JDS Ohio) over at UDWF I said I liked the chrono avenger (and I do) but this is more my cup of tea too. Not sure about the rubber strap but that can be dealt with easily.
A good point well made Scott

it is more a watch for a second-hand car salesman, or a real estate agent like i am, but it isn't the watch for me. You must have better taste Alistair!!

| Dial is nice and clear even if the manufacturer takes up a little more space with writing that I like to see, but for me, the over elaborate bezel, crown and pushers just spoil it. The model that Scott has posted a picture of is a much better looking watch and such a great photo! |

juko Well i know I am confident enough in my appreciation of watches that I could wear one.
Sometimes in my line there are moments when a Car Salesman's image is not a bad thing. Lol!

I quite like it as a tough tool, but I don't know if I would wear it in other settings. Something about the titanium finish - looks utilitarian but at the same time a little cheap. Really one to see in person to really know. Dave J |
