Glashutte Original Sport Evolution Panorama Date

I borrowed this shot from Jocke of WUS-EOT-Fame

I think its UberCool but what do you all think?

Difficult one this. I'd love to put it in the über cool category but I can't for two reasons.

1. The date - it's simply too big and which I might be able to forgive if it had black date wheels and was at six. As it is it just wrecks the symmetry of a beautiful dial/handset combo.
2. It looks a bit too dressy for a dive watch. This is probably just me but it doesn't look utilitarian enough for a professional tool watch. I seriously doubt than anyone would dive with such a chunk of beauty on their wrist.

All IMHO as ever and I'm sure others will disagree, so into the cool category it goes.

Cheers,

Gary

I too think that the date is a little big for the 4 O'clock position and the dressiness of the watch makes it a little less tool-like; however, the overall presentation - easy to read dial, high contast and clean lines - makes it ubercoool for me.

Don't hate me because I'm beautiful.

This has been one of my favourite watches since first seeing it.  Actually, I really like the way the date is done - it's upright!  I don't feel like I want to crank my neck sideways to read it.  I love the bezel and I love the hands too.  Overall a very well balanced and restrained, but sadly overpriced watch.  Everything is cool about the Sport Evo except the unattainable price.

Cheers, Brent

True and if I didn't have a nice 60's Submariner i would probably get one.... although there is still time.

Price wise i would agree but I also happened to see the DVD of how they manufacture and I can now see that maybe the price is understandable.

Good points Brent, get over to the main forum and make yourself known.

Like what watch do you favour?
