I don't think the cal.861 Speedmaster Professional has been up on the cool wall yet, so here goes.

So does this icon make you want to reach for the stars or just leave you in cold stasis?
Out to you guys.
Cheers,
Gary

You never know Carlos, somebody out there may not like it. After all I'm not really a huge fan of the SM300 and that's arguably just as iconic.
The strap was a one of Al produced with a view to selling but never went ahead with. Al correct me if I'm wrong mate. I was fortunate enough to win this one in the Christmas raffle. Look fantastic on the speedie, better than my pics portray.
Cheers,

Correct!
The strap may get produced this year. Thick leather with a large retaining loop as was worn by early pilots.
One of the two is fitted to the Meylan chronograph that is on hold.
Also Breitling made a similar strap for the Navitimer originally.

The Eagle has landed! All the way to the moon and way beyond for me.
One of the most iconic watches of all time and forever the benchmark for no-nonsense chronographs. It may be manual, there not be a date function, but the SMP is just so cool.
Nuff-said. |

My Speedy Pro is my favorite watch. I prefer the Speedy on it's bracelet.

What is to argue with. Reputable maker, super-legible chrono, iconic heritage, and elegance witht hte twisted pugs.
I do like that strap, it is slightly redolent of having been made from a slice of Doctor Martin's boots....oi
