This has undoubtably been asked a thousand times but that's never stopped me before. Has anyone had experience of using this type of case refinishing kit?

Full link here: http://forums.timezone.com/index.php?t=tree&goto=2813622&rid=0
Also fibreglass tipped retouching pens and Cape Cod polishing cloths, I've read lots of varying reports, anybody got experience of them and are they available in the UK?
All replies and links appreciated and thanks for reading.
Cheers,
Gary

I can't vouch for any of that stuff Gary as I've never used any of it .
IMO you'll get just as good results if you go to your local motor factors and buy some wet and dry in 400 , 600 , 1000 and 1500 grades , some fine soft metal polish like Blue Magic or Autoglym and a set of good quality needle files . You'll also need some small pieces of hardwood that you can shape to match the contours of a watch case for wrapping the wet and dry round .
You obviously won't get the same results as you got with your Speedie at Bienne but you can tidy up all but the very worst dings and scratches . |

Hi
I have tried a sample pack, without a lot of success, although I did find it polished up my signet ring extremely well, on trying it on my vintage Carrera it was impossible to make the brushed effect at all on the case, it did take some scratches out on the clasp but next time I will get done by a professional. Thats my advice.

Thanks for the replies guys, I was thinking of experimenting on a beat up old Seiko 6139. I'll probably leave well alone now, maybe one day I'll summon up the courage.
Cheers,
